One of the many things my wife and I have in common is a love for old books.  Through the years we’ve collected hundreds of vintage books that date back to one and two centuries ago.  We typically have success finding them at random thrift shops and antique stores.  To me, it’s like a treasure hunt because you never know where you’ll find that special book that someone inherited and thought was trash, but is actually a historical treasure.  I love the preservation of history and ability to look back into cultures of the past through the lens of authors that lived during that time.  It’s unfortunate that in our fast paced lives, we don’t find more time to open and enjoy a good book, but hopefully we can all be conscious of their value and make an effort to carve out the time .
